GPS Promotes PE Pipe Manufacturing to Teenagers
On 13th and 14th October, GPS PE Pipe Systems have repeated their involvement with the Skills Cambridgeshire Festival, the county’s biggest skills and careers event for 14-19 year olds. The festival aims to inform and inspire with hands on features, activities and demonstrations, offering a real insight into a host of different careers, whatever ability or ambition.
Teenagers from more than 15 schools flocked to the GPS stand and enjoyed themselves as they took part in many of the activities on offer. Many looked on as their friends competed in the jigsaw puzzle competition, looked for the hazards in the Health & Safety competition and learned about GPS from staff on the stand.
Bobby Walker, GPS HR Manager, commented: “This festival is an important and valued opportunity for us to interact with the local community, and helps us forge links with local schools and colleges with regard to our prospective colleagues of the future. We have demonstrated yet again that PE pipe manufacturing is an exciting and inspiring industry for the next generation of engineers and manufacturers in Cambridgeshire”.
GPS PE Pipe Systems specialises in the design, development, manufacture and marketing of polyethylene pipe systems for the gas, water, sewerage and industrial markets.
