Top Standards of Pipe Manufacturing Get Verified

GPS PE Pipe Systems has achieved top scores in an independent assessment demonstrating capability in the areas of health, safety, environment and quality.


The manufacturer’s practices and procedures have been highly rated in the independent assessment of the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality standards by Achilles, a leading supplier management services organisation under their Verify programme. Verify is an enhanced pre-qualification scheme used by utility companies to assess their suppliers. It is used both as an aid for utility companies to ensure that best practices are adopted by their supply chain, but also as valuable guidance on improvements for the company being assessed. Many regard it as the ‘Gold Standard’ for suppliers serving utility companies.

The assessment comprises of both evaluation of management system in an office and
the implementation of management systems at a working site. The management system at GPS scored 92.2% for Health and Safety, 93.8% for Environment and 98.5% for Quality, while their site performance scored 97.4%, 97.2% and 98.2% in the same categories. All scores are considerably higher than industry averages and show a year on year improvement since the company’s first assessment in 2004.
