Celebrate Water Saving Week

Water-saving measures do not need to be big and expensive. In fact it is the small changes that can add up to a huge environmental difference. For example, fixing a dripping tap can save as much as 5,000 litres of water a year.

To celebrate the Water Saving Week, which runs from 12 to 18th June, GPS PE Pipe Systems are offering you a chance to win a bottle of champagne simply making a water-saving pledge.

Taking part is easy:

Choose a simple pledge from the list below or you may know something you want to do already.

Let people know what you’re doing by typing your pledge on GPS Twitter page to inspire others to do the same.

Pledge ideas

I pledge to:

· Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth
· Install a water meter to monitor how much you use
· Only fill a kettle to a level you need when boiling water
· Use the washing machine or dishwasher with a full load, or make use of any half-load programmes on your machine
· Fix dripping taps
· Fit a save-a-flush in the loo to save one litre of water every time you flush
· Take a shower instead of a bath
· Mulch to keep moisture in the garden
· Buy a water butt to collect rain water for use on the garden

Good luck!

Two winners will be chosen from a random draw and announced on our Twitter page on 28 June. Entries are accepted only through Twitter. Anonymous Twitter entries will not be accepted, so please make sure that you put your full name and email on your profile.
