GPS PE Pipe Systems introduced the Protecta-Line® system to the UK market in 1997 and won the IWEX Innovation Award. Due to the pipe's wall structure, any chemicals left in the land cannot attack and damage the system, ensuring long-term security of supply, reduced leakage and excellent lifetime cost savings.

Protecta-Line® prevents the tainting of drinking water that can be caused by through-wall permeation of hydrocarbons and related chemicals that might be present in contaminated land and brownfield sites.

Protecta-Line® also safeguards against the impact of any soil contamination caused by future environmental accidents.

Protecta-Line® is WRAS, Regulations 31 (England & Wales) and Regulations 27 (Scotland) approved for a total peace of mind to the highest standards of safety demanded by water companies and other installers. It is also Kitemarked to WIS 4-32-19, the new industry standard for barrier pipe systems.

• The double bonded construction incorporates an impermeable metal barrier wrapped onto a standard central core pipe of Excel® (PE100) or PE80 conforming to BS EN 12201, BS 6572 or WIS 4-32-17
• No contact between the pipe's protective aluminium layer and drinking water
• Protecta-Line® pipe is available from 25mm to 63mm in SDR11 PE80 coils and from 90mm to 180mm in SDR 11 and SDR17 PE100 coils
